The Department
Mishcon has experienced a huge amount of growth in recent years and our success shows no sign of stopping. Our Technology team also continues to go from strength to strength and we are involved in some incredibly exciting and innovative initiatives across the firm.
Rather than being considered a necessary support function, our Technology department is an integral part of the strategy of the firm, and this is reflected both by the level of tech investment and how Technology initiatives are discussed at the most senior level. These two new roles – a Lead Data Scientist and a Data Scientist – are both within the Technology Function and form part of our Product, Platform, Data operating model.
The Role
We are hiring for two complementary roles as part of our growing Data capability:
- The Lead Data Scientist will sit within the Product Organisation, under the Innovation function, and form part of the Data Product Area. This role will lead the development of innovative, enterprise-grade data solutions and advanced analytics capabilities, working on high-impact initiatives including AI, automation, and new data products. The Lead Data Scientist will be expected to take ownership of solution design, prototype development, strategic experimentation and integrating solutions into broader product and platform architecture. This is a highly collaborative role with regular engagement across product managers, data engineers, and senior stakeholders.
- The Data Scientist will sit within the central Data Function under the Head of Data, supporting a wide range of operational and strategic needs across the Business of Law and Practice of Law. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their data science career in a hands-on, applied environment. You will work on projects that improve efficiency, transparency, and performance using a combination of dashboards, automation, and core analytics techniques.
Both roles are within the Technology Function and align to our Product, Platform, Data operating model. Collaboration across teams is essential, and both positions offer the opportunity to contribute to an ambitious, maturing data agenda.
Both roles will contribute to the development of analytics solutions that provide real insight and value to the Firm. You\’ll work across legal and operational domains and be involved in solution design, experimentation, delivery, and improvement. Our goal is to build a modern data capability that helps drive performance, transparency, and innovation in a complex legal environment.
