Job Title: Sous Chef
As the Sous Chef, you will be a key player in the running of the kitchen team. You should have excellent social skills and be capable of being managed and developed by the Head Chef, while also demonstrating leadership to the small team. Your focus will be on supporting and helping to implement the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including service, safety, and maintaining high standards set by the Head Chef. You will assist with new menus and dishes, bringing your own creative flair to push for exciting new offerings while refining classic dishes. Additionally, you should be able to run the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef when required.
- Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks to junior kitchen staff.
- Cooking and preparing high-quality dishes, ensuring food quality and standards are maintained.
- Assisting the Head Chef with creating menu items, recipes, and developing dishes, as well as managing food inventory, stocking, and ordering.
- Ensuring the kitchen complies with all regulations, including sanitary and food safety guidelines.
About You
Enjoy working as part of a small, friendly team.
Experienced in working in a quality, fresh food pub environment with local suppliers and seasonal ingredients.
Able to run the kitchen calmly and effectively in the absence of the Head Chef.
You will need verifiable references.
Salary and Benefits
£37,000 based on a full-time 48-hour week contract.
