Chef manager required serving high quality meals for residents at a care home and day centre, catering for approximately 80 residents per day.

Role Details: The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the catering team in the daily production and serving of high quality meals for residents at this care home and day centre. The care home is a 70 bed care home in NW London providing support to individuals over 65, including those living with Dementia. We are looking for someone who is passionate about food and has experience managing a catering team as a chef manager in a similar environment or within a school environment. The successful candidate should be confident managing budgets and people and should be flexible, self-motivated with great organisational skills and attention to detail. Experience in menu development and tailoring menus around residents to ensure we deliver person centred hospitality is essential, as well as experience of completing regular audits and managing stock control. The successful candidate should be able to lead, motivate, inspire and develop a team.

Essential:

  • 2 years commercial chef manager experience
  • Experience and knowledge of menu planning
  • Broad range of managerial skills including communication, managing budgets, supervision, development and training, and performance management
  • Consultative approach to catering provision
  • Scrupulous attention to hygiene, and health and safety
  • Team player, reliable and responsible, calm under pressure
  • Commitment to personal development

Desirable:

  • Experience of catering for the dietary needs of older people

Essential:

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Working knowledge of relevant health & safety legislation
  • Knowledge of procedures for food ordering
  • Knowledge of dysphagia and other dietary needs
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • A satisfactory DBS check with no barred listing
  • Knowledgeable about Dementia
  • Knowledge of CQC requirements
