Position Summary
PHARMACY STOCK CONTROLLER
BASED: Polar Speed UPS, SITE 1, Chartmoor Road, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, LU7 4WG
HOURS: MONDAY – FRIDAY – 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK
SALARY: £30,000.00 PER ANNUM

The company specialises in active temperature-controlled deliveries to hospitals, pharmacies, wholesalers and medical care surgeries as well as to end patients through its homecare business. Its customers include some of the best known pharmaceutical brands in the world.
We are now looking for an additional Stock Controller to join our busy SITE 1 Pharmacy team in Leighton Buzzard.
You will be the key contact in supporting the dispensing team in all stock related issues in the pharmacy, including goods in receipts, stock put away, patient stock picking, and undelivered package processing. You will also support our busy existing dispensary teams in our Leighton Buzzard and Tamworth pharmacies.
To be considered for the role, you must demonstrate excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure, prioritise your workload, and maintain great attention to detail. Previous stock control experience is essential; pharmaceutical experience is desired but not essential.
Working 37.5 hours per week covering the hours of 8am-4.30pm and 9.30am-6pm on a Monday to Friday basis, you must be flexible and prepared to work additional hours as required to meet service needs, which may be of an urgent medical nature. You will also be expected to cover other areas of work for colleagues if required. This will be an office/pharmacy based role.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the company’s stock systems and procedures.
- Understand and role model all Pharmacy SOPs (standard operating procedures).
- Monitor stock performance, investigating and resolving all discrepancies.
- Compile regular audits and the subsequent actions identified, accurately and on time.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships within the whole Pharmacy operation including the Pharmacy Administration team and other company departments.
- Liaise with the Senior Stock Controller on stock requirements to ensure timely orders of stock for the Pharmacy, and cover for the Senior Stock Controller in their absence.
- Conduct perpetual inventory cycle counts on a daily basis for local stockholding.
Key Skills/Experience/Requirements
- Previous Stock Controller experience in a Pharmaceutical/Warehouse Inventory role desired but not essential.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and collaborative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail while being able to work well under pressure and prioritise workload.
- Good working knowledge of IT packages: Word, Excel, Sage 200C, internet/intranet, Dynamics, PowerPoint, Polar Track, Polar Care.
- Team player mentality, able to build effective working relationships while maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work under pressure, work to targets, and deliver results.
