Miryco are partnered with an ambitious and growing insurance company on a journey to become a fully authorised Lloyd's Managing Agency. This is a rare opportunity to join at a pivotal stage and play a central role in building a business from concept to market.

Working directly alongside the CEO, you will become the driving force behind the execution of their strategic objectives, overseeing the end-to-end pre-licence process and ensuring that critical initiatives are delivered successfully, on time, and to the highest standard. This role offers significant scope for growth and is expected to evolve into a senior operational leadership position, such as Chief Operating Officer or Chief People Officer, as the business scales.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Chief of Staff/Project Manager who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and enjoys turning strategy into execution. You will act as the CEO's trusted partner, delivery lead, project manager, stakeholder manager and operational coordinator, ensuring momentum is maintained across multiple workstreams as we progress through the Lloyd's "Making it Happen" process and broader regulatory and operational readiness activities. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys bringing structure, accountability and clarity to ambitious programmes of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Delivery & Programme Management
    • Lead and coordinate all activities associated with the Lloyd's "Making it Happen" process.
    • Oversee the end-to-end pre-licence programme, ensuring milestones, dependencies and deliverables are effectively managed.
    • Establish and maintain programme governance, reporting and delivery frameworks.
    • Track progress across multiple workstreams and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • CEO Support & Chief of Staff Activities
    • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, helping translate vision into actionable plans.
    • Prepare executive briefings, board materials, presentations and decision papers.
    • Manage priorities, follow-ups and accountability across the leadership team.
    • Ensure key strategic initiatives are progressed and delivered.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Lloyd's, regulatory bodies, external advisers, capacity providers, investors and partners.
    • Coordinate discussions, workshops and steering committees.
    • Act as a trusted point of contact for critical external relationships.
  • Operational Readiness
    • Support the design and implementation of operational processes, governance structures and business controls.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure organisational readiness for authorisation and launch.
    • Drive a culture of execution, accountability and continuous improvement.

About You

You are highly organised, commercially minded and comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels. You will likely have:

  • Significant experience within the Lloyd's and London Market insurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of the Lloyd's market, managing agencies and regulatory environment.
  • Proven project and programme management experience, ideally involving complex transformation, authorisation or start-up initiatives.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior and executive levels.
  • Experience working directly with C-suite executives or founders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and a genuine passion for building businesses.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting a Lloyd's syndicate, MGA, managing agency or insurance start-up.
  • Familiarity with regulatory approval or licensing processes.
  • Formal project management qualifications (PRINCE2, PMP, Agile or equivalent).
