We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team in Milton Keynes. This is a great opportunity to join an award‑winning managed services provider as the business sets to expand beyond its existing success. You will be responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth by converting inbound marketing/sales leads and proactively generating new opportunities through outbound activity, referrals, partnerships and targeted account outreach. You will also own the early‑to‑mid sales cycle; from qualification through to proposal coordination and handover; ensuring a consistent, high‑quality experience for prospects and internal stakeholders.
Salary & Benefits
The budgeted base salary goes up to £50,000 (depending on experience), with an OTE commission scheme of up to £90,000 annually.

Responsibilities
- Owning and managing all incoming leads (web, phone, campaigns, events, referrals, partner sources), ensuring rapid response times and professional follow‑up.
- Converting qualified leads into sales opportunities, booking discovery meetings for deeper technical/solution conversations where needed.
- Conducting structured discovery calls to understand the prospect’s environment, drivers, risks, priorities and selection process.
- Collaborating with technical teams to validate feasibility, scope and initial solution direction.
- Building trusted relationships with prospects, partners, and referral sources (e.g., vendors, consultants, local business groups).
- Representing the business at relevant networking events, webinars, and industry activities.
- Gathering market intelligence; competitor activity, pricing trends, common objections, emerging need; and feed insights back to the business.
- Accurately maintaining CRM records including activities, contacts, notes, next steps, close dates and pipeline value.
Success in this role will be measured by
- Achievement against agreed targets for qualified meetings, pipeline creation and new revenue.
- Strong inbound lead conversion rates with minimal lead drop‑off.
- Accurate forecasting and high‑quality CRM hygiene.
- Positive feedback from presales and service teams on opportunity quality and handovers.
- Active contribution to improving sales processes, messaging and collateral.
Qualifications & Experience
- Professional experience in a business development position – ideally within an IT or MSP environment, but we are open to seeing candidates from different industry backgrounds.
- Strong demonstrable capability for outbound prospecting and inbound lead management/conversion.
- Excellent questioning and consultative selling skills.
- Strong management of pipeline, including reporting and forecasting.
- Proven ability to manage internal stakeholders across sales, presales, marketing and service delivery (or equivalent).
- An understanding of Microsoft 365, security and modern workplace concepts.
