LOCATION: Hingham, Norfolk (NR9) – Office based roleDEPARTMENT: Engineering, ApplicationsSALARY: CompetitiveHOURS: Full time/permanent - 37 hours per week (Mon – Thurs: 8hrs/ Fri: 5 hrs – finish early)

About the role

As a Design Engineer,youare responsible forowning and deliveringAircraft Seating designwork packages within theApplicationsEngineering function, achieving on time product delivery and compliance to customer and airframe specifications and to the regulatory requirements.

Workingclosely with other Mirus functional teams and external stakeholders, you willensure effective & efficient configuration,customisationand design ofaircraftseating products.

In your role as our Design Engineer, you will:

  • Customise and reconfigure our seating products to meet customer specifications and ensure compatibility with various airframe installations
  • Deliver work packages for linefit and retrofit engineering projects, achieving on time product delivery, to specification, ensuring compliance to the airframe and regulatory (CAA, EASA and FAA) requirements
  • Generate and contribute to the generation of customer delivery timing plans and actively engage in measures to adhere to plan
  • Liaise with certification,testand stress teams to ensure designs meet the structural andaircraftairworthiness requirements

About you

To help Mirus continue our journey of growth, you willrequirea minimum of 2 years design engineeringexperience.Prioraircraftseating is not a necessity, but we expect a willingness to learn, a passion for innovation, problem solving abilities and drive for operational excellence along with the following skills, experience,qualificationsand attributes:

  • AMechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent technical qualification and industrial experience)
  • 1–2 years of experience in a design engineering role, ideally within a mechanical or manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity withCAD and PDM systems , including modelling and drawing techniques (e.g., GD&T)
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from senior engineers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to contribute to innovative product development
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting
  • Exposure to aerospace, automotive, or similar regulated industries
  • Understanding of airworthiness or compliance standards (CAA, EASA, FAA)
  • Experience working in a production or serial manufacturing environment

Personal skills / attributes:

  • Diligent, enthusiastic, and driven, with an excellent work ethic, and a “can do” attitude
  • Good personal time management and comfortable working to deadlines
  • Highly adaptable and willing to make decisions in a fast and pressured environment
  • A team playerthathas hands on experience with mechanical systems
