With experience in an aerospace certification environment and a good working knowledge of CS/FAR-25, (UK/E)TSO-C127 and associated regulatory requirements, you will support the Certification team and wider Engineering department, including New Product Design, Applications Engineering and Programme Management teams, to achieve UKTSO, ETSO and/or TSO and OEM Frame Specification compliance for a range of programmes with our customers. You’ll join a high performing team and growing business, passionate about innovation and development of best-in-class lightweight aircraft seating.
In this role, you will take ownership of seat certification programmes, and as a key stakeholder in ensuring the successful completion of projects, you’ll work collaboratively with internal teams and liaise with external parties such as regulators, test houses, airline customers and aircraft OEMs. These projects can vary from a revised installation layout, introduction of new seat features, to supporting an all-new seat design through initial certification from concept to production.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain certification project milestones and schedules required to complete projects.
- Manage, track and report to ensure adherence to programme deliverables on time.
- Generate and check test plans and reports to a consistent high quality standard.
- Coordinate with design and test staff to support development and certification test campaigns, to officially witness testing and to interpret and present test results.
- Liaise with the New Product Development Engineering team during the design and development stages of a project, and with the Applications Engineering team during the customer configuration stage of a project to provide guidance and to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with regulators to ensure quick and seamless issuance of (UK/E)TSO, as well as supporting customer and aircraft OEM meetings and deliverables.
About you

- Experience working in an aerospace certification environment.
- Experience working in aircraft seating or cabin interiors.
- Hands on experience with preparing technical documentation including plans and reports.
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to provide innovative and creative solutions.
- Results driven, able to prioritise and meet deadlines and to seek support when required.
- Working knowledge of appropriate sections of CS/FAR-25 and Part 21.
- BEng/MEng/MSc Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Automotive or similar), minimum 2:1.
Desirable:
- Experience liaising with regulators (UKCAA, EASA, FAA) and OEMs (Airbus, Boeing).
- Working knowledge of (UK/E)TSO-C127 including dynamic, static and flammability testing.
Personal skills / attributes:
- Able to perform a broad range of tasks efficiently and manage priorities.
- Attention to detail and maintaining quality standards whilst ensuring on-time completion.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing product design, customer requirements, regulations and/or priorities.
- Comfortable with travel between Hingham and Reading offices when required.
- To work flexible hours when required, be eligible to work in the UK, and to support international travel when required.
