About MirrorWeb

MirrorWeb is an intelligent communications supervision platform built for regulated financial services firms that need to scale supervision safely, defensibly and without operational collapse. Compliance teams today are dealing with a permanent shift: channel explosion (mobile, social, collaboration tools), volume that outpaces humans and regulators who didn’t lower the bar. The result is simple: teams are drowning in data but starving for signal. Most firms get stuck between three flawed options:

  • Legacy archiving & supervision platforms (manual, queue-based, connector‑centric, brittle, slow to adapt)
  • Point AI compliance tools (narrow, opaque, hard to defend in audits)
  • DIY + services‑heavy approaches (stitched‑together systems and spreadsheets that don’t scale)

MirrorWeb was built for this moment: AI‑native supervision designed for regulated reality – where AI helps prioritise risk and focus human attention, while preserving accountability regulators accept. Our mission: help regulated firms communicate freely and confidently, knowing supervision stays scalable, defensible, and auditable as the world changes.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the backbone of our platform – building and scaling the backend systems and cloud infrastructure that power compliant communications supervision at global scale. This is a hands‑on, high‑ownership role. You’ll operate across Go services, AWS infrastructure, automation tooling, and CI/CD pipelines – with the opportunity to influence architecture, engineering standards, and how we scale as a business. You’ll help ensure our systems are reliable, secure, auditable, and built to withstand regulatory scrutiny.

Your Impact

  • Shape and evolve the architecture powering millions of captured communications and archived records.
  • Strengthen the reliability and scalability of our Go‑based services and AWS infrastructure.
  • Raise the bar on automation, deployment, and engineering excellence across the team.
  • Influence technical direction during a critical scale‑up phase.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute meaningfully to our ownership‑driven culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Through Engineering Excellence: Set the bar through high‑quality coding, thoughtful system design, and pragmatic problem‑solving. You’ll be a technical role model within the team.
  • Own Across the Stack: Design, build, and maintain backend services in Go, and manage AWS infrastructure that supports secure, scalable processing of high‑volume data.
  • Contribute to Frontend Where Needed: While the focus is backend and infrastructure, experience with React, Remix, or React Native is a plus – enabling you to contribute across the stack when required.
  • Drive Technical Design: Participate actively in architectural discussions. Bring fresh ideas, challenge assumptions, and help shape systems that will scale with the business.
  • Automate Everything Sensible: Drive scripting and automation across MacOS and Linux environments. Improve internal tooling and reduce operational friction.
  • Build & Maintain CI/CD Pipelines: Own and enhance GitHub Actions workflows. Implement Infrastructure as Code principles and ensure reliable, repeatable deployments.
  • Embed Security by Design: Ensure security best practices are baked into infrastructure, services, and deployment workflows – not bolted on later.
  • Mentor & Elevate the Team: Support colleagues through code reviews, pair programming, and open knowledge sharing. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Partner Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Product and Design to ensure technical solutions align with business priorities and customer outcomes.

About You

Essential:

  • Strong commercial experience building backend systems in Go.
  • Deep experience with AWS (e.g., Lambda, ECS, EC2, RDS/Aurora, S3, networking, IAM).
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred).
  • Infrastructure as Code experience (e.g., Terraform).
  • A generalist mindset – comfortable moving across backend services, infrastructure, and tooling.
  • Proven ability to operate in ambiguous, early‑stage environments where architecture is still evolving.
  • Strong ownership mentality – you take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.

Desirable:

  • Experience with React, Remix, or React Native.
  • Experience with Linux and MacOS automation/scripting.
  • Exposure to security‑first or regulated environments.
  • Experience building systems that handle high‑volume, data‑intensive workloads.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems or event‑driven architectures.

Tech Stack

  • Backend: Go (core services), Node.js (select services)
  • Frontend: React, Remix, TypeScript
  • Cloud: AWS (Lambda, ECS Fargate, EC2, Aurora, S3, SQS/SNS)
  • Infrastructure: Terraform, GitHub Actions
  • Data: PostgreSQL/MySQL, large‑scale object storage
