We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our growing team and lead the successful delivery of complex, high-value projects across the nuclear sector.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Projects & Engineering Director, you will take ownership of multiple projects throughout their entire lifecycle—from initial proposal and bid support through to design, manufacture, installation and final delivery. You'll work with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, software, manufacturing, procurement and customer organisations, managing projects that integrate advanced electronics, bespoke software and mechanical handling systems. Many of our programmes involve international stakeholders and supply chains, offering exposure to global projects and diverse teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a project professional who thrives on delivering technically challenging solutions while building strong relationships with customers and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the delivery of projects involving advanced nuclear measurement and protection systems
- Managing project scope, budgets, schedules, resources and risks
- Developing and maintaining project plans using Microsoft Project
- Monitoring project performance, forecasting costs and managing invoicing activities
- Working closely with engineering teams and subcontractors to ensure quality and timely delivery
- Building strong customer relationships and managing change requests effectively
- Supporting bid and proposal activities, including cost estimation and project planning
- Leading cross-functional project teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery and financial objectives
- Driving continuous improvement and sharing best practice across the business
What We're Looking For
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience managing complex engineering or technical projects
- Strong project planning and organisational skills
- Experience developing and managing project schedules in Microsoft Project
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and financial management experience
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (required)
Qualifications & Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, a related technical discipline or equivalent demonstratable experience
- PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification
- Working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4, FIDIC or similar contract frameworks
- Experience with SAP R/3 Project Systems
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Experience delivering EPC projects within:
- Nuclear Power Generation
- Nuclear Waste Management
- Defence or Highly Regulated Industries
- Technical background in mechanical or other engineering disciplines
