The OpportunityWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Engineer (Mechanical and Automation) to carry out solutions design and integration activities of Mirion's nuclear measurement systems. This will involve working with designated teams to ensure all engineering aspects of a specific system are completed to specification, customer satisfaction, timescale and cost constraints.
You will be involved in engineering projects of differing size and complexity, predominantly defining and validating solutions activities (often working with specialist sub-contractors), including contributing to successful build β including 'hands on' test and commissioning of the equipment.
The position will be based in Warrington with some hybrid working and travel across the UK to various customer sites during commissioning/acceptance.
Applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check, with the potential for undergoing security vetting at a national level.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the Mechanical and Automation element of bespoke system project work and to assist the Technical Lead in the successful completion of projectsDefining standards for the team to achieve excellence in a highly regulated industryGuiding and mentoring junior team members where necessaryApplying the principles of best engineering practice at all timesAble to support FMEA, fault tree analysis, SIL substantiation and AR&M assessmentsLiaising with other Divisional stakeholders to ensure compliance with all customer requirementsContribute technical input to tender documentation including concept design and costingActive involvement in identifying and participating in business improvementsAbility to spend short periods of time at other Divisional sites, customer sites and supplier sitesSkills & ExperienceDegree Educated or equivalent time served β in a relevant engineering disciplineA good appreciation of Electrical SystemsPrevious experience as a Project/Senior Engineer, with a broad range of mechanical, control, instrumentation and safety systems knowledgeExperience with PLCs and PLC programming with familiarity with (ideally) GE Fanuc applicationsExperience with compliance with the Machinery Directive and specifically standards EN12100 and EN13849-1An excellent working knowledge of relevant general national and international codes, specifications and standardsExcellent computing skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office Applications and of AutoCAD productsAbility to be SC cleared (with the option to obtain DV if required)Proactive and technically capableStrong initiative, motivation and a commitment to delivering high-quality work under pressureExcellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skillsHigh level of communication proficiency in spoken and written EnglishWhat we can offerOur employees make the difference, that's why we can offer the following:-A competitive salary and benefits packageThe opportunity to develop within an international group working on high profile projectsOngoing professional development opportunities and trainingA collaborative and supportive work environmentPayTypeSalary
