We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our growing team and lead the successful delivery of complex, high-value projects across the nuclear sector.
The OpportunityReporting to the Projects & Engineering Director, you will take ownership of multiple projects throughout their entire lifecycle—from initial proposal and bid support through to design, manufacture, installation and final delivery.
You'll work with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, software, manufacturing, procurement and customer organisations, managing projects that integrate advanced electronics, bespoke software and mechanical handling systems. Many of our programmes involve international stakeholders and supply chains, offering exposure to global projects and diverse teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a project professional who thrives on delivering technically challenging solutions while building strong relationships with customers and colleagues alike.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeading the delivery of projects involving advanced nuclear measurement and protection systemsManaging project scope, budgets, schedules, resources and risksDeveloping and maintaining project plans using Microsoft ProjectMonitoring project performance, forecasting costs and managing invoicing activitiesWorking closely with engineering teams and subcontractors to ensure quality and timely deliveryBuilding strong customer relationships and managing change requests effectivelySupporting bid and proposal activities, including cost estimation and project planningLeading cross-functional project teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery and financial objectivesDriving continuous improvement and sharing best practice across the businessWhat We're Looking ForSkills & ExperiencePrevious experience managing complex engineering or technical projectsStrong project planning and organisational skillsExperience developing and managing project schedules in Microsoft ProjectExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsCommercial awareness and financial management experienceAbility to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environmentEligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (required)Qualifications & KnowledgeBachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, a related technical discipline or equivalent demonstratable experiencePMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualificationWorking knowledge of NEC3/NEC4, FIDIC or similar contract frameworksExperience with SAP R/3 Project SystemsKnowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management SystemsExperience delivering EPC projects within: Nuclear Power GenerationNuclear Waste ManagementDefence or Highly Regulated IndustriesTechnical background in mechanical or other engineering disciplinesThe Personal Qualities That Will Help You SucceedWe're looking for someone who is: A natural problem solverHighly organised and goal-orientedConfident communicating with stakeholders at all levelsSkilled in negotiation and influencingDecisive and commercially awareProfessional, collaborative and customer-focusedMotivated to continuously improve and develop othersWhy Join Mirion?
