An exciting opportunity has arisen for a UK Site Service Engineer based in Forss near Dounreay and belongs to the Technologies Division EMEA/APAC. The role will be responsible for all equipment and providing services support to the Dounreay site in Scotland. Travel to various sites (UK and occasionally overseas) will be required to complete tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and support of specialist and bespoke waste assay systems
  • Inspection, calibration, test and repair of nuclear related monitoring and detection instrumentation
  • Field service, technical support and troubleshooting to support Mirion’s customers
  • Liaison with customer’s project teams to allow smooth installation of equipment (locations, cable routing, transit) and integration into site systems

Qualifications & Skills

  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship and a minimum HNC in Electronics or Electrical Engineering is desirable (or equivalent experience or qualification)
  • Knowledge of radiation measurement instruments and gamma spectroscopy (training will be provided if needed)
  • Familiarity with working on nuclear licensed sites such as Dounreay, Sellafield, EDF or NRS (preferred)
  • Strong initiative, motivation, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
  • Eligibility for UK security clearance (British or EU passport holder)
  • High level of English proficiency
