We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Contract Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a variety of end-to-end networking projects within a fast-paced environment.

Role Overview

As a Contract Network Engineer, you will be responsible for providing 1st to 3rd line network support across various sites. This role is project-focused, requiring a hands-on approach to surveying, troubleshooting, and resolving network issues. The role requires 3 days a week of travel to various sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing 1st to 3rd line network support, including incident management and resolution.
  • Conducting site surveys to assess network requirements and propose solutions.
  • Implementing and configuring network devices, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Troubleshooting network issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Collaborating with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network services.
  • Participating in project-related activities, including planning, implementation, and documentation.
  • Occasional overnight stays may be required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in network engineering, with a focus on Cisco technologies.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols).
  • Hands-on experience with network device configuration and troubleshooting, including Cisco Meraki firewalls.
  • CCNA certification is a must.
  • Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to various sites (approximately 3 days per week).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • CCNP certification.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Previous experience in a tiered support environment.
