You will be working within some really exciting markets such as aerospace, formula one racing cars, engineering, oil and gas and pharmaceuticals. Our client works within the metal industry. Metal is absolutely everywhere and is a necessity not a luxury, so a great market to be working within.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with strong people-management experience who wants real ownership, autonomy and scope to grow. You do not need to be the finished article, but you do need to bring drive, confidence, personality and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced operational environment.

The Role:

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse and logistics operation, leading a team of around 16 people and helping to drive performance, service levels and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys getting stuck in, building relationships with different personalities, challenging the status quo and bringing fresh ideas to the table.

Key Responsibilities of a Logistics Manager:

  • Lead, motivate and develop warehouse and logistics teams
  • Manage daily warehouse, stock, dispatch and distribution activity
  • Improve processes, service levels and operational performance
  • Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to increase efficiency
  • Manage team performance confidently and constructively
  • Support training, workforce planning and team development
  • Ensure health & safety standards are maintained
  • Work closely with other departments to meet customer expectations
  • Take ownership of operational challenges and drive solutions

What We’re Looking For in a Logistics Manager:

  • At least 2 years’ experience leading or managing a team
  • Experience in a warehouse, logistics, distribution, retail operations or similar fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong people-management skills and confidence dealing with different characters
  • A proactive, positive and improvement-focused mindset
  • The ability to work with autonomy and take ownership
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • A genuine passion for leading teams and improving performance
  • A coachable attitude and willingness to learn the business
  • Formal logistics qualifications, CPC knowledge or warehouse licences would be beneficial, but they are not essential. Attitude, leadership potential and drive are the priority.

Why Apply?

This is more than a standard warehouse management role. Our client is looking for someone who can grow with the business, take on increasing responsibility and become a key part of the future leadership team.
