Job Description
Role: Product Operations Manager
Location: Holborn, London
Reports to: Product Operations Director
The opportunity
We're MiQ, a programmatic media partner for marketers and agencies. We're experts in data science, analytics and programmatic trading, and we're always ready to react and solve challenges quickly so our clients are always spending their media investments on the right things in the right places.
Our business keeps growing because we keep hiring smart people who challenge conventions, connect teams and make great things happen.
This role sits within Global Product Operations and is designed to help bring together the product organisation as a cohesive unit, making it easier for teams to execute strategy efficiently and improving the experience of doing product work at MiQ.
We're looking for a Product Operations Manager who will work alongside the Product Operations Director as a broad Product Ops generalist - someone who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves on day-to-day operational improvement and stepping up to independently lead key cross-functional initiatives. You'll help improve the health of how the organisation works, create momentum around important initiatives and make sure execution stays current across the board.
You'll focus on supporting core processes, operating rhythms, tooling, communication and day-to-day operational effectiveness across Global Product and its adjacent teams, while also taking clear ownership of a key initiative or two at any given time.
This is a role for someone who is practical, hands-on and highly collaborative, with the confidence to drive meaningful projects independently and bring structure to complex cross-functional work.
What this role is here to do
Product Operations at MiQ focuses on people, process and systems, helping the product organisation operate effectively and consistently as it scales.
This role is therefore best suited to someone who enjoys:
- Taking ownership of key operational improvement projects and driving them through to completion
- Spotting where ways of working are unclear, inconsistent or out of date, and helping keep them effective and current
- Bringing structure, visibility and momentum to cross-functional work involving multiple teams and stakeholders
- Working closely with Product Managers and adjacent teams to understand friction, identify improvement opportunities and translate those into action
- Balancing immediate execution support with broader operational improvement across the Product organisation
Job responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include:
Process health and continuous improvement
- Support established Product processes and help keep them current, effective and easy for teams to follow
- Take ownership of reviewing and continuously improving key Product processes where needed, ensuring they remain clear, lightweight and useful in practice
- Identify where workflows, handoffs or responsibilities are unclear and help teams close those gaps
- Keep operational processes up to date as team needs, tools and priorities evolve
- Help teams adopt and maintain shared and repeatable ways of working
Rituals, planning and operating cadence
- Review and improve the health of Product rituals and operating cadences
- Help maintain the calendars, checkpoints and recurring workflows that keep Product and Tech operating effectively
- Ensure key operational processes happen consistently, with the right visibility, follow-through and accountability
- Support teams in making execution status, decisions, dependencies and next steps easier to understand
Tooling, systems and operational enablement
- Own and improve the day-to-day operational setup of Product tools and systems
- Identify friction in current tooling or ways of working and work with relevant partners to improve usage, structure, adoption and effectiveness
- Help ensure teams have the right operational support, information and structure to execute effectively
- Contribute to lightweight governance around templates, workflows and operational setup across key tools
- Support practical improvements that make cross-functional work easier to coordinate and maintain
Cross-team coordination
- Stay close to Product Managers and other adjacent teams to understand day-to-day friction, emerging problems and opportunities for improvement
- Help connect the dots across teams so that process changes, priorities and expectations are understood consistently
- Facilitate working sessions and discussions needed to move cross-functional initiatives forward
- Support stronger alignment across Product, Tech and adjacent functions
Project delivery and leadership
- Lead 1β2 key Product Ops projects at any given time, with responsibility for shaping plans, aligning stakeholders and driving progress
- Support the planning and delivery of broader Product Ops projects, helping keep work structured, coordinated and moving forward
- Proactively identify blockers, risks or dependencies and work through them with the right people
- Ensure projects land well operationally, not just on paper
Documentation and enablement
- Maintain high-quality documentation where it is needed to support execution, visibility and consistency
- Create or refine templates, guides and playbooks that help teams adopt good practice
- Ensure operational information, knowledge bases and playbooks are easy to find, easy to understand and kept appropriately up to date
- Support regular operational communications and the rollout of updated ways of working
Required experience
- 4+ years of experience in Product Operations, Product Management, Project Management or a similar operations-focused role
- Strong track record of driving and leading cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders to success
- Experience independently scoping or improving processes and operational practices, preferably for Product Management teams
- Comfortable managing multiple concurrent initiatives while keeping quality high
- Background in programmatic, ad tech or a similarly complex product environment is desirable
Required skills
- Clear and engaging communicator who can align stakeholders and keep operational updates easy to understand
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to keep multiple workstreams, routines and follow-ups moving
- Structured problem-solver with good judgement and attention to detail
- Able to turn broad goals or ambiguous issues into clear plans and practical next steps
- Able to keep documentation, playbooks and operational information clear, current and easy to use
- Reliable in managing recurring operational tasks, cadences and communications with strong follow-through
