Job Description
The HCM Workday Analyst supports the day‑to‑day maintenance and optimisation of Workday, working closely with HR teams, IT, and business stakeholders. This role manages the ticketing system and provides advanced end‑user support, manages system configurations, ensures data integrity, and contributes to continuous improvement, release assessments, and Workday‑related projects. The analyst helps ensure Workday meets business needs, supports user adoption, and drives data‑driven decision‑making across MiQ.
Key Responsibilities
- System Maintenance & Functional Support
- Support the HCM Lead in the daily management of Workday, ensuring system stability and timely resolution of issues.
- Provide tier‑2 support for users, handling queries or issues that cannot be resolved through training materials or help articles.
- Triage tickets and route them to the appropriate Functional Lead or external support when needed.
- Support change work, Workday release assessments, and system enhancement projects.
- Ensure all system configurations, processes, and changes are documented in alignment with company policies and audit requirements.
- Configuration & Improvements
- Assist with Workday configurations across HCM modules as required.
- Suggest and implement opportunities for process optimisation through improved Workday functionality and best practices.
- Participate in functional upskilling initiatives to stay current with Workday capabilities.
- Reporting, Analytics & Data
- Create, maintain, and optimise Workday reports and dashboards that support business needs and encourage data‑driven decision‑making.
- Import and export data in Workday using EIBs or other tools, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
- Assist with bulk corrections/ changes to maintain data quality.
- Testing & Release Management
- Collaborate with HCM Lead to validate system changes, updates, and enhancements.
- Conduct regression testing to prevent issues, especially during Workday releases or new feature deployments.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test script creation, execution, and documentation.
- End‑User Support & Training
- Provide support and troubleshooting for users through the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and root‑cause identification.
- Assist in developing user documentation, job aids, guides, and training materials for end‑users and HR partners.
- Promote system knowledge by contributing to training sessions and enabling self‑service adoption.
- Security, Integrations & Collaboration
- Assist in maintaining user security roles and permissions in Workday, ensuring proper access management and compliance with policies.
- Support IT in addressing integration issues between Workday and internal systems.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with HR, Payroll, IT, Finance, and other business partners to align Workday solutions with business needs.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting Workday HCM as an analyst or HRIS/functional specialist.
- Strong understanding of HR processes and Workday business processes.
- Experience with Workday configurations, reporting, data loads, and troubleshooting, specifically absence & recruiting.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Prior experience working in a ticketing environment or Agile project setting.
Preferred
- Workday Pro certification or equivalent module‑level expertise.
- Experience with dashboards, calculated fields, EIBs, and integration troubleshooting.
