Media is navigating a major shift in how digital content is discovered and consumed as AI-powered search and conversational agents increasingly shape the web. As part of this evolution, we are building new capabilities to understand, measure, and monetize how AI platforms interact with our content. We are hiring a Data Analyst, AI Content Intelligence to lead analysis of AI bot and crawler activity across our ecosystem. This role sits within the BI & Data function and works closely with Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to turn emerging AI traffic signals into actionable insights, product direction, and revenue opportunities. This is a high-impact role for an analyst who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, enjoys building new measurement frameworks, and wants to influence how a publisher adapts to the AI era.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze AI bot and crawler traffic to understand how our content is accessed, consumed, and cited by AI platforms.
- Define and own KPIs for agentic traffic, including usage patterns, citation behavior, and content value signals.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting that provide leadership with a clear view of AI-driven content consumption.
- Ingest and model AI traffic data in BigQuery, enabling scalable analysis and long-term tracking.
- Identify high-value content assets and quantify their importance to AI platforms and models.
- Support the definition of licensable content products, such as APIs, feeds, or authorized access models, in collaboration with Product and Engineering.
- Translate technical findings into clear insights that support commercial discussions and partnership strategy.
- Monitor how other publishers package and license content for AI consumption and share relevant insights internally.
- Track authorized AI partner usage and monitor performance against agreed access models.
- Compare the performance and revenue potential of agentic traffic versus traditional ad-based traffic.
- Evaluate monetization and pricing approaches, including licensing and usage-based models, to support long-term revenue growth.
Requirements
- Strong analytical skills with experience deep-diving into large datasets and turning ambiguous questions into structured analysis.
- Advanced SQL skills, with hands-on experience working in BigQuery or similar data warehouses.
- Solid Python skills for data analysis and automation.
- Understanding of web architecture, including HTTP, user agents, and bot behavior.
- Experience working with cloud-based data stacks such as GCP or AWS.
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
