We are seeking an Accountant to support Mintz Group's United Kingdom operations. In this role, you will manage multi-entity accounting processes, support payroll activities and HMRC submissions, support accounts payable and receivable, maintain accurate general ledger activity, and coordinate key financial workflows that support UK operations.
This position requires a detail-oriented, independent professional who thrives in a small office environment and can manage a broad range of accounting responsibilities with accuracy and reliability. You will serve as the primary accounting resource for the UK, ensuring compliant, timely, and precise financial management.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Core Accounting and Financial Operations: Process United Kingdom payroll related entries and ensure accurate recording in the accounting system; Coordinate payroll preparation including data gathering, validation, and communication with internal stakeholders; Manage all HMRC submissions, compliance updates, and required documentation; Enter utility invoices, rental fees, and direct debit expenses into NetSuite; Complete monthly bank reconciliations for all relevant accounts; Support annual audit preparation through schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
- Invoice, Supplier, and Cash Flow Management: Manage the full accounts payable cycle including reviewing, coding, posting, and scheduling payments; Coordinate supplier and subcontractor invoices; Manage payments for utilities, office rental fees, and recurring expenses; Coordinate movement of funds across bank accounts; Support accounts receivable, including tracking incoming payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Office and Practice Support: Serve as the primary accounting support for the London office and assist with daily finance related inquiries; Maintain accurate ledger data as part of standard accounting activities; Provide Directors and external accountants with required statements, reports, and supporting documentation as part of routine financial administration; Compile Work in Progress data and support tracking and reporting; Support collections activities; Operate independently as a jack of all trades accountant with limited daily supervision.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts; prepare journal entries and support monthly close; Maintain accurate accounting records aligned with United Kingdom financial regulations and internal controls; Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and firm policies; Support month end and year end close, including reconciliations and documentation preparation; Maintain thorough documentation to meet Mintz Group standards and UK regulatory requirements; Ensure audit readiness through ongoing accuracy in reconciliations and supporting documentation.
