We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Mintlaw Vet Surgery on a part‑time basis. Mintlaw Vets is a bustling single‑site practice situated in Aberdeenshire. Our purpose‑built premises house a vibrant and forward‑thinking team that values collaboration. We hold RCVS General Practice Accreditation, alongside VetGDP, RVN Training Practice status, and ISFM Cat‑Friendly Clinic Accreditation. We also implement Fear Free techniques to enhance the well‑being of both clients and patients.
Within our well‑equipped facility, you'll find a light and spacious waiting room, 4 consulting rooms (including a dedicated nurse consult room), and 2 operating theatres, one of which doubles as a dirty ops/x‑ray room. We also have staff dog accommodation on site.

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. This is a part‑time role working 21 hours over 3 days, Monday to Friday. There will also be a 1 in 6 Saturday rota with time off in lieu.
General responsibilities include:
- Providing nursing care to hospitalised patients, including monitoring and treatments
- Preparing patients for theatre and monitoring anaesthesia
- Administering medications, injections, and fluid therapy
- Running nurse clinics (e.g. weight management, wound care, vaccinations)
- Supporting and advising clients on the care of their pets
- Assisting with laboratory work, diagnostic tests, and imaging
