Join Mintel and help shape the future of global consumer insights through worldâclass design. We are looking for a Design Lead to join our growing Global Product Development teamâsomeone who is a master of their craft and thrives in the early stages of product definition. You will blend handsâon execution with strategic thinking, translating complex, ambiguous problems into intuitive experiences.
This role is for a highâimpact individual who isnât afraid to get their hands dirty. You will be "in the room" with clients and sales teams, sketching solutions in realâtime, and partnering intimately with engineering to build solutions that shape entire industries.
Why This Role Matters- Be the voice of the user: tag along with sales teams and lead client conversations to hear the Voice of Customer directly.
- Solve for the business: focus on Product and Commercial goals first, using design to drive outcomes rather than just aesthetic output.
- Thrive in ambiguity: take loose, complex requirements and produce earlyâstage flows that bring clarity.
- Facilitate alignment: visualize multiple options to help crossâfunctional teams debate tradeâoffs and agree on the best path forward.
- Connect the dots: bridge the gap between Product, Engineering/Data, and Commercial.
- Drive Strategic Definition: Translate early abstract concepts into tangible prototypes as sparking debate and socializing ideas.
- Develop keen understanding of Mintel's unique content and insights ecosystem, ensuring user experience amplifies the value of our insights.
- Facilitate CrossâFunctional Collaboration: Bring Engineering, Data, Product, and Sales together to solve problems collectively and guide the group toward solutions.
- Partner closely with Engineering to balance user value with technical feasibility.
- Shape Commercial Impact: Shadow sales calls and facilitate client feedback sessions to deeply understand customer needs and pain points.
- Ensure every design decision is anchored in commercial reality, focusing on adoption, retention, and value.
- Validate & Socialize: Continuously validate concepts with customers and senior stakeholders; avoid the "big reveal." Produce multiple design approaches to solve single problems for evaluation based on data and strategy.
- Cultivate Design Excellence: Lead by example, setting best practice through highâquality design behavior. Define and implement scalable design processes; mentor junior and midâlevel team members.
- Embed Data & AI Innovation: Design conversational interfaces (chat experiences) that help users interpret complex data sets. Simplify dense data interpretation challenges into clear, digestible experiences.
- Essential: 10+ years in Product Design with a strong portfolio of B2B products.
- Experience designing for LLM interfaces, chat experiences, and tools that visualize complex data.
- Proficiency with AI prototyping tools and standard design tooling.
- Ability to solve highly ambiguous problems quickly, focusing on commercial and product goals.
- Exceptional facilitation skills with crossâfunctional teams and stakeholder validation.
- Nice To Have: Experience in FMCG or Market Intelligence sectors. Experience leading and mentoring a design team.
- Collaborationâsupporting culture with remoteâworking flexibility.
- Generous holiday allowance with the option to buy additional days.
- Personal development focus; encourage sharing learning.
- Frequent social events within and across the company.
- Blend of home and office working (1â2 days in office).
