Founded in 2008, MINT Commercial Interiors Ltd is a business-to-business window dressing specialist (curtains & blinds). We have a long history of supplying the country’s largest house builders and a significant track record of delivering projects for large corporate clients in the Build-to-Rent sector across the UK.
Due to continued growth, we are now seeking an experienced and highly motivated Installation and Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This key role involves managing a team of sub-contracted fitters across the UK, ensuring the smooth running of installation projects, and delivering high quality and excellent service to our clients.
As a Installation and Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of installation projects. That includes recruitment, management and training of new fitters to aiding MINT’s Compliance Officer with compliance with health and safety requirements on client sites. You will work closely with the Project Management and Operations Teams to support the timely and efficient production, delivery and installation of curtains and blinds. Additionally, you may be required to step in and support installations yourself when needed, demonstrating your competency and expertise.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Team Management & Recruitment: Oversee and manage a nationwide team of sub-contracted fitters, ensuring they are adequately trained, equipped, and capable of delivering high-quality work. Recruit and onboard new fitters as required.
- Installation Support: Be available to support the installation team and step in to assist with curtain and blind installations on client sites, ensuring work meets the company’s high standards.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Work with MINT’s Compliance Officer to ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations, particularly those specific to client sites. Create and implement Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) for each installation project.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with and support the Project Management and Operations teams to ensure smooth execution of curtain and blind projects as required.
- Software & Systems Management: Maintain competence in using project management software (e.g., Trello) and site management software to track and report on project progress.
- Quality Control: Ensure the highest level of workmanship and client satisfaction, ensuring that all installations meet the agreed timelines and standards.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of installations, health and safety documents, and project updates, ensuring all reports are completed promptly.
- Customer Liaison: Communicate directly with clients when required, addressing concerns and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the installation process.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar Contracts Manager or Site Supervisor role, preferably in the window dressings industry or equivalent. Experience in managing subcontractors and installation teams.
- Competence: Knowledge of the curtain and blind industry is an advantage, but not essential. You should be a competent installer yourself, with hands-on experience of fitting curtains & blinds, or equivalent joinery / installation experience.
- IT Skills: Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Experience with project management software (e.g., Trello) and site-specific software is advantageous but not required.
- Health & Safety Knowledge: Good understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to produce, implement and manage risk assessment method statements (RAMS).
- Strong Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, sub-contractors, and internal teams.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely delivery.
- Location: Based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, with the ability to travel to various client sites as required.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience within the commercial curtain and blinds industry.
- Familiarity with installation techniques and product knowledge related to curtains, blinds, and window treatments.
- Experience working with site-specific software and managing remote teams.
