Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial analysis of power market fundamentals across key European markets, particularly Germany and Spain
  • Monitoring of key regulatory and policy developments relevant to flexible technologies and energy storage
  • Preparation of market updates, competitor analysis, and strategic insights
  • Support for tender application processes and preparation of bidding strategies for Capacity Market, ancillary services, and subsidy opportunities
  • Support for business case evaluations and offtake agreement negotiations
  • Asset technical analysis
  • Other ad-hoc analytical and strategic support across commercial, investment, and development activities

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience within an energy consultancy, or as a stakeholder in the energy industry (utilities/IPP, financial services company)
  • Previous experience working on energy-related projects or policy
  • Experience within flexible technologies and/or renewables sectors, with a good understanding of project economics
  • Solid understanding of UK and/or European power market fundamentals; experience supporting EU tender submissions (e.g., MACSE, PERTE), ancillary services, Capacity Market processes, or offtake discussions is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g. SQL/Python) and financial modelling advantageous, but not essential
  • Additional European language skills, particularly German or Spanish, would be beneficial but not required
