- Onshore Wind Development Manager
- Bath, UK (Hybrid)
We are working with an established UK renewables developer that is scaling its onshore wind pipeline, and they need a Development Manager to take projects from early-stage origination through to consent.
The role exists because their site pipeline has grown faster than their in-house development capacity.
You would own projects end to end, at the point where onshore wind is finally back on the table in England and moving quickly across the rest of the UK.
The Company
Our client develops renewable energy projects across multiple technologies, with a growing focus on onshore wind.
They run lean, give developers real ownership of their projects rather than slicing the work into narrow functions, and back that with a collaborative team and flexible hybrid working from their South West base.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage onshore wind projects from site identification and land agreements through planning and consent.
- Lead the planning process, coordinating environmental, technical and grid workstreams.
- Build and maintain relationships with landowners, local authorities and communities.
- Manage external consultants and budgets to keep projects on programme.
Experience & Qualifications
- 5 to 8 years in renewable energy development, ideally with onshore wind exposure.
- Working knowledge of the UK planning system and the consenting lifecycle.
- Experience managing land, grid and stakeholder workstreams on live projects.
- Confident managing consultants, budgets and competing priorities.
- A relevant degree, or equivalent experience in development, planning or environmental disciplines.
Benefits
- Competitive salary with genuine progression as the pipeline grows.
- Hybrid working
- Real project ownership rather than a narrow, siloed remit.
