Mint Selection have partnered with a leading investor and asset manager to recruit a Senior Technical Asset Management Lead in London to lead the technical asset management arm of the business.

The Company

Our client are a renewable infrastructure investor focused on developing and managing clean energy and energy storage assets, with ambitions to support decarbonisation through a diversified portfolio of energy-transition investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the operational performance of a renewable energy portfolio, with a focus on maximising availability, reliability, and efficiency across all assets.
  • Monitor asset performance through SCADA platforms, operational data sources, and market intelligence tools to identify optimisation opportunities and emerging risks.
  • Lead technical analysis and performance assessments to support operational improvements, troubleshooting activities, and investment decisions.
  • Ensure maintenance strategies, operational procedures, and asset documentation remain robust, up to date, and audit-ready.
  • Provide technical expertise during commissioning and handover stages, supporting milestone achievement through PAC, IAC, and FAC processes.

Team Leadership & Strategic Oversight

  • Provide leadership to a multidisciplinary technical asset management function, establishing clear objectives, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development across the team.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to define operational priorities, resource requirements, and long-term technical strategy.
  • Support the growth and development of team members through mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance.

Contractor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with operations and maintenance providers, technical advisers, subcontractors, and service partners to ensure high standards of delivery and performance.
  • Oversee contractor performance against agreed service levels, commercial obligations, and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate technical activities across internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of operational plans.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with site teams, consultants, and key business functions.

Compliance, Risk & Governance

  • Ensure assets operate in accordance with all applicable regulatory, environmental, health & safety, warranty, and contractual requirements.
  • Lead compliance monitoring, audits, and governance reviews, driving corrective actions where necessary.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks to safeguard asset integrity and business continuity.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure best-practice standards are consistently applied across the portfolio.

Reporting & Business Support

  • Produce and present operational performance reports, translating technical information into clear insights for a range of stakeholders.
  • Support strategic and cross-functional initiatives by providing technical input, analysis, and coordination.
  • Collaborate closely with investment, ESG, and asset management teams to ensure operational activities align with wider organisational objectives.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of technical operations by implementing scalable processes, innovative solutions, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Degree educated in an Engineering discipline.
  • Several years experience in renewable energy asset management/O&M, managing large operational portfolios of Solar PV, Onshore Wind and/or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to interpret large and complex data.
  • Solid leadership and people development experience.
