We are working with an established clean energy infrastructure business delivering utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across the UK and wider European markets. Operating across development, engineering, construction and asset operations, our client manages more than 1.6GW of renewable energy assets and has played a key role in several industry-first grid and storage projects within the UK energy sector.

This role sits within the Operations & Maintenance division and exists to provide senior technical leadership across a portfolio of high-voltage renewable energy assets. The HV SAP Technical Operations Manager will oversee safe system operation, maintenance delivery and compliance across operational solar and battery storage sites, ensuring maximum asset availability and safe working practices. The position has direct impact on asset uptime, operational performance and long-term revenue generation, while maintaining robust HV safety standards across field operations.

The Company: Our client is an investor-backed renewable energy platform with an established operational footprint across the UK and Northern Europe. Since 2010, the business has delivered more than 140 solar and battery projects and continues to expand its operational asset base across utility-scale renewables and energy infrastructure. The organisation combines technical delivery capability with long-term asset ownership and operational management, supporting both clean power generation and wider energy system optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the senior HV SAP responsible for switching schedules, permits to work and safety from the system across operational assets
  • Lead and mentor field-based SAPs and engineers, maintaining competency, training and operational standards
  • Manage preventative and reactive maintenance activities to maximise asset availability and minimise downtime
  • Conduct operational audits and ensure compliance with DNO requirements, HV safety rules and statutory regulations

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status, typically 11kV–33kV+
  • Proven experience within HV operations, maintenance and switching on renewable or utility infrastructure assets
  • Strong understanding of UK electrical safety rules, compliance and operational procedures
  • Electrical Engineering qualification (HNC, degree or equivalent industry experience)
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing operational budgets and contractor performance
