Mint Selection are partnered with a leading offshore marine contractor to recruit x2 experienced Shift Superintendents for an upcoming offshore campaign based in Scotland. This requirement is for two separate specialisms:

  • x1 Shift Superintendent with proven trenching experience
  • x1 Shift Superintendent with proven cable installation / cabling experience

These positions will support a major offshore subsea campaign onboard a vessel environment and require individuals with strong offshore operational experience, capable of coordinating complex marine activities safely and efficiently.

Scope of Work

  • Lead and oversee offshore operations during assigned shift periods, ensuring activities are executed safely, efficiently and in line with project procedures.
  • Coordinate marine and subsea activities onboard the vessel, acting as the focal point between offshore teams, vessel crew and client representatives during shift operations.
  • Oversee offshore operational activities relating to trenching and/or cable installation works, ensuring production targets, safety standards and project deliverables are achieved.
  • Work closely with the vessel bridge team, marine crew, subsea personnel and project stakeholders to coordinate vessel activities and operational priorities.
  • Monitor offshore risks, weather limitations and operational constraints, making informed decisions to maintain safe and efficient delivery.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) standards, permit-to-work systems and offshore procedures.
  • Provide detailed operational reporting and shift handovers to ensure continuity between rotations.
  • Support troubleshooting and problem solving during offshore operations, escalating risks or delays where required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Shift Superintendent, Bridge Superintendent, Offshore Construction Superintendent or similar offshore supervisory role.
  • For one position, proven trenching experience is essential.
  • For the second position, proven offshore cable installation / cabling experience is essential.
  • Experience working onboard offshore construction, cable lay, trenching or subsea support vessels.
  • Strong understanding of offshore marine operations and subsea construction activities.
  • Valid Offshore Survival and Offshore Medical certificates are essential.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple work fronts in a high-pressure offshore environment.
