We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with TP137 CDAE authorisation to support design and engineering works on a major power infrastructure project. This is a 12-month contract role, working outside IR35, with flexible working arrangements.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of electrical design packages while operating under TP137 / CDAE authorisation, ensuring all engineering outputs comply with project standards and network requirements.
Responsibilities- Deliver electrical design and engineering documentation for power and grid infrastructure projects.
- Act under TP137 CDAE authorisation to review and approve design deliverables where required.
- Produce and review design drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
- Support design assurance and compliance with network operator standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.
- Participate in technical reviews, design checks, and engineering approvals.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet industry standards, safety requirements, and project timelines.
- Proven experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer within the power, utilities, or transmission sector.
- TP137 CDAE authorisation is essential.
- Experience with HV / EHV electrical infrastructure, substations, or power transmission projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical design standards and engineering documentation.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with wider engineering teams.
- Excellent technical and communication skills.
