Key Responsibilities:

Contract & Risk Management:

  • Lead commercial and contractual negotiations across the full project lifecycle — from development through to construction and operations.

  • Manage the administration of key project contracts, including EPC, O&M, and grid connection agreements.

  • Ensure robust risk management procedures are in place to protect commercial interests.

  • Provide contractual and commercial support to internal teams throughout project delivery.

Cost & Financial Oversight:

  • Own the cost tracking and reporting process for capital projects, ensuring alignment with budgets and forecasts.

  • Manage change control processes and evaluate the commercial impact of variations.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling activities in collaboration with finance and development teams.

Procurement & Supply Chain Support:

  • Collaborate closely with procurement and technical teams to evaluate supplier bids, negotiate terms, and secure best value.

  • Ensure supplier compliance with contractual obligations, project milestones, and commercial KPIs.

  • Oversee contract execution and close-out processes across multiple workstreams.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as a key commercial point of contact for project stakeholders, joint venture partners, legal advisors, and consultants.

  • Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and commercial updates to senior leadership.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of commercial management experience within energy, utilities, construction, or infrastructure sectors.

  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. NEC, FIDIC, bespoke EPC), including negotiation and contract administration.

  • Experience working on high-value capital projects with complex stakeholder environments.

  • Excellent commercial acumen, with proven ability to manage cost, risk, and value throughout project delivery.

  • Confident communicator and collaborator with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering, Law, or similar; MRICS or similar professional qualification is desirable.
