Commercial Analyst sought by market leading Independent Power Producer. Backed by a top tier global Private Equity fund, our client have significant capital behind them to accelerate the growth of the business. Already operating one of Europe’s largest Battery Energy storage portfolios, their >17GW + development pipeline consist of Batteries, Fast-Response Peaking Plants, Pumped Storage Hydro, and Green Hydrogen across a variety of geographies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial analysis of market fundamentals
  • Market reporting
  • Trading performance review
  • Preparation of bidding strategies for ancillary services / Capacity Market
  • New ancillary services / Capacity Market contract management
  • Asset technical analysis
  • Other ad-hoc analysis

Job Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience in an energy consulting firm, or as a stakeholder in the energy industry (utilities/IPP, financial services company)
  • Previous experience working on energy-related projects or policy
  • Experience within flexible technologies and/or renewables sectors, with a good understanding of project economics
  • A solid understanding of UK power market fundamentals
  • Proficient in Excel models and PowerPoint presentations
  • Competence in data analytics (SQL/Python) & financial modelling is a plus but not necessary
  • London based.
