Salary: Competitive day rate depending on experience
Contract length: 12 to 18 month contracts
Mint Selection is speaking with experienced BESS Engineers ahead of upcoming contract requirements on utility-scale battery storage projects. These roles cover the electrical and technical work that takes a storage system from design through to compliant operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the electrical design of utility-scale BESS, including HV and LV interfaces, transformers and inverters
- Work on grid compliance and connection requirements for storage assets
- Review single line diagrams, protection schemes and control systems
- Coordinate with suppliers, integrators and network operators, and support commissioning, testing and performance optimisation
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience on utility-scale BESS projects in design, technical advisory or delivery roles
- Understanding of BESS architecture, including PCS, power plant controller and energy management system integration
- Knowledge of grid compliance requirements and the safety standards that apply to storage
- Strong technical documentation and supplier engagement skills - Degree in electrical or power engineering advantageous
