Contract Opportunity Completions Engineer | Power Generation | UK
Mint Selection are supporting a key client in their search for an experienced Completions Engineer to support the construction and commissioning of a high-impact power generation project in the UK.
This is a 12-month contract (site-based, outside IR35) with long-term potential.
Role Overview:
- Support the successful delivery of a major energy infrastructure project, ensuring smooth and traceable transition from construction to commissioning
- Coordinate closely with site construction, supervisory, commissioning, and project engineering teams across the UK
- Manage and report on completions status using tools like GoTechnology, ensuring ITRs (Inspection Test Reports) and ITPs (Inspection Test Plans) are accurately maintained
- Liaise with site teams and engineering to define and implement clear handover sequences across disciplines
- Ensure quality control of contractor works, address non-conformance reports (NCRs), and proactively resolve outstanding issues and punch list items
- Assist in preparing turnover packages and represent the company in site meetings with contractors and designers
- Maintain project documentation aligned with the document management system, and deliver regular completion status dashboards
- Provide support on technical queries, site planning, and snagging, contributing to safe and timely project completion
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience in power generation or related sectors
- Valid CSCS (or equivalent safety competency certification)
- Strong understanding of civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes from a completions and commissioning perspective (electro-mechanical bias preferred)
- Familiarity with GoTechnology (or similar completions systems) preferred
- Experience managing ITPs, ITRs, and handover documentation on complex infrastructure projects
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Knowledge of gas peaking plant construction
- AutoCAD 2D or equivalent
- SMSTS qualification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
