I’m currently working with an energy business specialising in battery storage and flexible power generation, looking for a freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to support its project delivery team across procurement, contracting and commercial management.
The role will involve working closely with the Supply Chain Manager, Engineering Team and Project Managers to manage contractor procurement, negotiate terms and conditions, and oversee project budgets, costs and financial reporting.
The role will involve:
- Managing procurement and contracting of goods and services across assigned projects
- Issuing scopes of work to selected contractors and managing tender returns
- Coordinating technical queries (TQs) and supporting the negotiation of contractual terms and conditions
- Managing contract approvals, signatures and purchase order (PO) creation
- Working with Project Managers to develop project budgets and maintain budget templates
- Tracking project spend, commitments and forecasts, including month-end reporting and estimates at completion
- Supporting wider procurement and commercial activities across the business
- Freelance contract
- Duration: 6 months
- Location: Wakefield, with hybrid working and regular office attendance required
- Start date: First week of November, with potential flexibility
- Day rate: Negotiable
