An established renewable energy developer and long-term asset owner is looking to appoint a Project Manager to support the delivery of a growing portfolio of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects across the UK.
With multiple projects progressing through development and into construction, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of major capital projects from Notice to Proceed through to commercial operation. Working within a collaborative project delivery team, you'll coordinate internal stakeholders, contractors and external partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget. This is a client-side position with broad exposure across engineering, construction, commercial management and project execution.
The Role
- Take full responsibility for the delivery of utility-scale BESS projects through construction, commissioning and handover.
- Manage EPC contractors, Owner's Engineers, consultants and key supply chain partners throughout project execution.
- Monitor programme, cost, quality and risk, ensuring project milestones are achieved.
- Coordinate technical, commercial and contractual interfaces between internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Lead project meetings, progress reporting and governance activities.
- Oversee construction activities, site progress and commissioning programmes.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, HSE standards and company governance requirements.
- Support procurement, contract management and change control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with development, engineering and operations teams to ensure a seamless transition into asset operation.
About You
We're keen to speak with experienced Project Managers who have delivered large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects, ideally within Battery Energy Storage, Solar PV or wider power infrastructure.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Demonstrable experience delivering utility-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
- Strong contractor management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Experience working in client-side, EPC, principal contractor or Owner's Engineer environments.
- A good understanding of construction delivery, commissioning and project controls.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and UK construction health & safety requirements.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, contracts and programme performance.
- An engineering or construction-related degree is preferred, with APM, PMP or equivalent project management qualifications viewed favourably.
