Mint Selection are working with a leading UK energy and technical services provider delivering complex industrial and process infrastructure projects. They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor on a contract basis to support the commercial management of ongoing works within a highly regulated environment. This role will support the wider commercial team across all aspects of project delivery, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration and commercial governance throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with Commercial, Engineering and Project Management teams.
Scope of Work
- Provide day-to-day commercial support across the project, ensuring accurate cost control and reporting.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial tracking of project expenditure.
- Administer contracts in line with NEC and bespoke forms of contract, ensuring compliance and effective change management.
- Manage variations, compensation events and claims, including assessment, negotiation and agreement.
- Support procurement activities, including tender review and subcontractor engagement.
- Contribute to monthly reporting, including cost/value reconciliation and financial performance updates.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify and manage commercial risks.
- Support final account preparation and close-out activities.
Experience to be Considered
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within energy, utilities, industrial or process-driven environments.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, alongside experience administering bespoke contract forms.
- Demonstrable experience supporting commercial management across live projects.
- Experience working on complex infrastructure or process-led projects (e.g. industrial, chemical, or energy-related sectors).
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience in cost control, contract administration and change management.
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline preferred.
