Our client, a developer of large-scale energy infrastructure, is seeking an experienced NEC Supervisor to support the delivery of a flagship pumped-storage hydro project in the UK. This nationally significant scheme will play a critical role in strengthening energy security and supporting the transition to net zero.

The successful candidate will act as the client’s named NEC Supervisor across multiple high-value construction contracts, ensuring quality assurance, inspection compliance, and defect management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the named NEC4 Supervisor across multiple construction contracts, ensuring works comply fully with contractual scope and quality requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections, witness testing activities, and manage defect identification, notification, and close-out processes.
  • Lead inspection and test plan (ITP) implementation, including hold points, witness points, and surveillance strategies across civil, mechanical, electrical, and high-voltage scopes.
  • Manage non-conformance reporting (NCR), including tracking, root cause analysis, and verification of corrective actions.
  • Verify site progress against accepted programmes and commercial schedules, supporting payment certification and compensation event assessments.
  • Witness factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and pre-commissioning activities in coordination with commissioning teams.
  • Review and approve contractor quality documentation, including quality plans, material submissions, and as-built records.
  • Maintain inspection records and defect registers, providing assurance reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure strong health and safety practices by aligning inspection activities with construction regulations and contractor systems.
  • Collaborate with contractors and project stakeholders while maintaining independence in certification duties.
  • Support commissioning and handover activities, including completion systems, punch-list management, and take-over readiness.
  • Provide leadership to site-based inspection personnel and manage specialist third-party inspectors where required.
  • Produce regular reporting on inspections, defects, and quality performance trends.

Experience: Professional chartership preferred. NEC Supervisor accreditation desirable. Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
