A client of ours, a leading independent planning and development consultancy is expanding its Socio-Economics / Strategic Land & Regeneration team and is looking to hire at Senior Consultant and Associate level. This team advises on some of the most high-profile development and regeneration projects in the UK, providing strategic, economic and social evidence to support planning, investment and infrastructure decisions. The work sits at the intersection of development, public policy, communities and the economy.
The Role Depending on level and experience, you will be involved in:
- Making the strategic and socio-economic case for development, funding and investment
- Preparing written evidence for planning applications and policy engagement
- Delivering socio-economic assessments, including inputs to Environmental Statements, Health Impact Assessments, Equality Statements and economic benefit reporting
- Undertaking economic, demographic and social data analysis
- Advising on social infrastructure planning, funding and delivery
- Working closely with developers, planners, lawyers, architects and technical specialists
- (At Associate level) Managing projects, mentoring junior colleagues, and contributing to bids and business development
- (At Senior Consultant level) Leading smaller workstreams and supporting team development
You’ll work in a high-calibre, collaborative team, with close exposure to senior leadership and a strong emphasis on professional development.
About You This role would suit someone who:
- Has a strong interest in the built environment and the societal impacts of development
- Is a strategic thinker with excellent attention to detail
- Is highly numerate and confident working with data, statistics and spreadsheets
- Is a clear and confident communicator, particularly in written work
- Has experience preparing socio-economic or related impact assessments
- (Associate level) Has experience managing projects, mentoring others and contributing to bids/tenders
- Experience in strategic land, regeneration, planning policy or public sector engagement is advantageous
- GIS experience is a plus, but not essential
