Mint Selection have partnered with a leading developer transitioning into an IPP, to recruit an Asset Manager in London, to be responsible for technical oversight of operational Solar PV and BESS assets in the UK.

The Company

A developer of utility scale Solar PV and BESS projects, transitioning into an IPP, where they plan on constructing and operating sites they have developed. The Asset Manager will be their first hire into the Asset Management function, and will help set up the foundations for their future operational portfolio, from commercial, technical, financial, compliance, and optimisation processes to reporting, dashboards/software/SCADA and headcount.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical performance of operational Solar PV and BESS assets, managing O&M providers against availability, maintenance, reliability, and performance KPIs.
  • Review and approve planned maintenance programmes, reactive maintenance activities, and major component replacement strategies to optimise asset performance and lifecycle value.
  • Act as the technical interface with OEMs and key contractors, managing warranty claims, technical bulletins, performance issues, and lifecycle management of critical equipment including inverters, BESS systems, and transformers.
  • Manage engineering change processes, root cause investigations, and corrective action programmes to ensure continuous improvement and effective risk mitigation across the portfolio.
  • Ensure assets remain compliant with grid connection agreements, relevant industry standards, and operational technical requirements.
  • Support technical due diligence activities for acquisitions, refinancings, and disposals, including review of Independent Engineer (IE/OE) reports, technical documentation, and data room management.

Requirements

  • Engineering background (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline) with experience in the technical management of utility-scale Solar PV and/or BESS assets.
  • Strong understanding of operational asset performance management, including root cause analysis, engineering change management, and corrective action processes.
  • Familiarity with O&M contract structures, LTSA agreements, and OEM warranty management for key equipment including PV modules, inverters, transformers, and BESS systems.
  • Knowledge of UK Grid Code compliance requirements, relevant IEC standards, and health, safety, and environmental obligations associated with operational renewable energy assets.
  • Proficiency in CMMS, SCADA, or asset management platforms, with strong analytical capability to interpret technical performance data and identify optimisation opportunities.
