Mint Selection are partnering with a leading multi-utility and infrastructure delivery organisation within the UK energy sector who are seeking an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of a BESS project on a long-term contract based in Leeds. The role will focus on coordinating site activities across civil, electrical, and commissioning workstreams, ensuring safe delivery, programme adherence, and high-quality execution on a complex grid-connected energy project.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site activities across construction and commissioning phases
- Act as the Principal Contractor representative ensuring CDM and HSE compliance
- Coordinate contractors carrying out installation, testing and commissioning works
- Conduct regular site walkarounds, safety inspections and progress reviews
- Lead contractor meetings and maintain clear communication across site teams
- Ensure works are delivered in line with RAMS, permits and safe systems of work
- Monitor programme progress and proactively manage risks and delays
- Support cost control and provide input for project reporting and forecasting
- Maintain site documentation including reports, permits and QA records
- Oversee commissioning activities and ensure smooth project handover
Requirements
- Experience as a Site Manager on energy projects is essential, with a background in renewable or power generation projects such as BESS, solar, wind, or Substations
- Experience managing construction, commissioning or project completion phases
- Strong understanding of CDM regulations, RAMS and permit systems
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification (essential)
- IOSH or NEBOSH (advantageous)
- Strong contractor coordination and communication skills
- Proficient in project planning tools (MS Project desirable)
