Lead the Construction of One of the UK’s Most Significant Renewable Energy Infrastructure Projects. This is a rare opportunity to take a senior leadership role on a nationally significant energy project that will help transform the UK's electricity system for decades to come.
We're seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager / Head of Site Delivery to lead client-side construction activities on a major infrastructure programme in the Scottish Highlands. Combining complex heavy civil engineering, tunnelling, large-scale electromechanical installation, grid infrastructure and commissioning, this multi-billion-pound development will play a critical role in supporting energy security, grid stability and the transition to net zero.
As the client's senior site leader, you will be responsible for driving safe, efficient and successful delivery across multiple major contracts, overseeing construction interfaces, contractor performance, programme execution and site-wide coordination from mobilisation through to completion.
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional construction management role. You'll be at the forefront of delivering one of the UK's most technically challenging renewable energy projects, leading a high-performing site team while working alongside industry-leading contractors, engineers and project stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Lead delivery of a landmark energy infrastructure project of national importance.
- Shape and build the client-side site delivery organisation.
- Drive construction performance across major civil, mechanical, electrical and grid connection packages.
- Influence project strategy and decision-making as a key member of the senior leadership team.
- Oversee the delivery of complex interfaces across heavy civils, tunnelling, equipment installation and commissioning activities.
- Play a vital role in supporting the UK's long-term energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible leadership across all site activities, championing world-class health, safety and environmental standards.
- Lead and develop the client-side construction and site delivery team.
- Manage contractor performance across programme, quality, cost and safety objectives.
- Coordinate interfaces between principal contractors, specialist contractors and commissioning teams.
- Oversee construction readiness, logistics planning and execution strategies.
- Review construction methodologies, temporary works and critical delivery plans.
- Support risk management, contract administration and project controls activities.
- Ensure compliance with planning, environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Drive successful transition from construction through completion, commissioning and handover.
About You
We're looking for a proven construction leader who has successfully delivered major infrastructure projects and can operate confidently in a complex, high-profile environment. You will likely bring:
- A Tier 1 contractor background with experience leading major site operations on £400m+ heavy civil engineering, tunnelling, hydro or energy infrastructure projects.
- Significant experience managing complex construction interfaces and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and collaborative delivery models.
- Extensive understanding of CDM regulations, construction safety and quality management systems.
- Experience working within large-scale infrastructure programmes from construction through commissioning.
- The leadership presence to influence senior stakeholders and drive performance across multiple contractors.
- An engineering qualification and ideally chartered status.
What's on Offer
- A senior leadership position on a flagship renewable energy development.
- The opportunity to leave a lasting legacy on the UK's energy infrastructure.
- Competitive executive-level salary and benefits package.
- Relocation and accommodation support where required.
- Long-term career opportunity with significant project visibility and impact.
If you're motivated by complex engineering challenges, major project delivery and the opportunity to shape a project that will support the UK's clean energy future for generations, we'd like to hear from you.
