I’m currently working with an established energy developer that is expanding its development portfolio and is looking to bring in an experienced Grid Development / Grid Connections professional on a 12-month contract.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong grid experience who can take ownership of opportunities from early-stage development through to grid connection application and progression.
The role:
You’ll be responsible for identifying and developing new grid connection opportunities, using your understanding of the grid and available capacity data to determine where projects are best positioned.
You’ll have the opportunity to work with an open canvas, assessing potential opportunities, carrying out the necessary calculations and technical assessments, preparing applications and helping to progress projects through development.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify optimal locations for new grid connections.
- Assess grid capacity, data and available opportunities.
- Carry out relevant calculations and technical assessments.
- Prepare and submit grid connection applications independently.
- Support projects from early-stage development through the connection process.
- Identify and progress new development opportunities.
- Provide technical insight and recommendations on the viability of potential projects.
- Work independently and take ownership of opportunities through to the next stage.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Strong experience within grid connections / grid development.
- Previous experience working on projects at the development stage.
- Strong understanding of grid capacity, connection processes and applications.
- Experience undertaking relevant calculations and technical assessments.
- Proven ability to identify suitable locations and connection opportunities.
- Comfortable independently managing applications and progressing projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
