Our client, a leading renewable energy developer and operator, is seeking an experienced Procurement & Contracts Manager to join their growing team. This is a key strategic role supporting a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects across the UK and Europe, driving best practice across procurement, contract governance, supplier management, and commercial risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage a structured framework for project-related contracts across the organisation's renewable energy portfolio.
  • Maintain contract registers, reporting systems, governance procedures, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Monitor contractual obligations, project milestones, and key supplier deliverables to ensure compliance and performance.
  • Partner with engineering, construction, project delivery, and commercial teams to ensure regulatory, technical, and contractual compliance.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks, including delays, cost overruns, supplier underperformance, and contractual disputes.
  • Manage contract administration activities including variations, extensions of time, claims, warranties, guarantees, insurance requirements, and contractual correspondence.
  • Lead tendering and procurement activities from supplier selection and evaluation through negotiation, recommendation, and contract award.
  • Develop and maintain procurement strategies, governance frameworks, policies, and supplier management processes.
  • Conduct supplier due diligence and risk assessments, including ESG, ethical sourcing, and modern slavery compliance reviews.
  • Monitor contractor and supplier performance through KPI reporting, governance reviews, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare management reports, dashboards, and procurement performance metrics for senior stakeholders and governance committees.
  • Support long-term supplier relationship management and remain informed on emerging renewable energy technologies, supply chain developments, and market trends.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in procurement, contracts management, or commercial management within the renewable energy, utilities, infrastructure, or construction sectors.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple contracts and procurement activities across complex project environments.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration, governance frameworks, supplier management, and procurement best practice.
  • Experience leading competitive tender processes, supplier evaluations, contract negotiations, and award recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of contractual and commercial risk management principles.
  • Experience developing procurement strategies, policies, governance procedures, and supplier performance frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Strong report writing, organisational, and analytical capabilities with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience within renewable energy, battery energy storage, solar, wind, or wider energy infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.
