A leading UK energy developer is seeking an experienced Grid Code Compliance Engineer to support a large-scale flexible generation and storage project (750MW). This role will play a key part in ensuring full Grid Code compliance across the design, modelling, commissioning, and operational phases of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver Grid Code compliance studies, including voltage, reactive power, frequency response, and Fault Ride Through (FRT).
  • Develop, validate, and maintain RMS and EMT models for grid-connected assets.
  • Support system studies and technical assessments for transmission-level compliance.
  • Act as technical interface with NESO (National Energy System Operator) for approvals and technical queries.
  • Oversee and support site testing and commissioning activities, including witness testing (harmonics, voltage, frequency response, performance validation).
  • Conduct post-event analysis and investigation of system disturbances or compliance issues.
  • Ensure all project elements meet relevant UK Grid Code and transmission requirements.

Key Requirements

  • Strong background in Grid Code compliance engineering.
  • Proven experience with RMS and EMT modelling tools and system studies.
  • Familiarity with NESO / transmission system operator processes.
  • Experience in site testing, commissioning, and validation of grid-connected assets.
  • Strong understanding of HV power systems, ideally including BESS and/or conventional generation.
  • Ability to work across both design and delivery phases.
  • Strong communication skills with experience managing technical stakeholders.
