We are supporting a leading UK energy developer delivering large-scale grid-connected infrastructure projects, who are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join on an initial 12 month contract. The role sits within an Owner’s Engineer function and will focus on providing electrical engineering oversight across design and construction phases of major power projects. This includes review and verification of contractor designs, supporting key electrical studies (fault level, protection coordination, earthing, and grid compliance), and contributing to the specification and procurement of primary electrical equipment such as transformers and switchgear.
You will also be responsible for coordinating electrical design inputs across multiple contractors, managing technical interfaces, and ensuring all engineering deliverables are aligned, controlled, and delivered in line with programme requirements. The role will include regular engagement with site teams during construction to support resolution of technical and design-related issues.
Requirements- Strong electrical engineering background within power systems, grid, or renewable energy projects
- Experience in HV/MV environments and substation / grid-connected infrastructure
- Knowledge of grid studies (G99, P28, G5/4, load flow, fault level analysis)
- Experience in design review, technical assurance, or Owner’s Engineer roles
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
- 12 months (with likely extension)
- Hybrid working (3 days London or site, 2 days remote)
- Outside IR35
- Day rate negotiable DOE
- Immediate start preferred
