Hours: Daytime shifts only – 6:00am to 2:00pm

Are you an experienced bakery professional with a passion for artisan pastries, cakes, bakes and leading high-performing teams? We are looking for a talented Head of Pastry & Bakery to lead a busy bakery operation in Warrington, producing exceptional products for both the Food Hall and food outlets.

Working Pattern:

  • Daytime hours
  • During probation: 5/7 days per week
  • Following successful probation: 6 days on / 4 days off rota (every other weekend off)
  • Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and Easter Sunday all Off

The Role:

As Head of Pastry & Bakery, you will lead a team of eight colleagues, ensuring the highest standards of production, quality and consistency across all bakery and pastry products. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, motivating and developing a Bakery & Pastry team of 8 colleagues.
  • Overseeing the daily production of bakery and pastry products for both the Food Hall and outlets.
  • Managing food GP% and ensuring efficient, profitable production.
  • Completing daily and weekly ordering of ingredients and supplies.
  • Carrying out monthly stock audits and maintaining accurate stock control.
  • Ensuring full compliance with HACCP, food safety and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Developing innovative and on trend new bakery and pastry products, including product costing.
  • Coaching and inspiring your team to consistently deliver exceptional quality.

About You:

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as a Head Pastry chef, Baker, Senior Baker or in a similar leadership role.
  • Excellent artisan pastry and bakery production skills.
  • Proven experience managing, coaching and developing a team.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience with stock control, ordering and cost management.
  • Excellent organisational and production planning skills.
  • A genuine passion for innovation and creating outstanding bakery products.
