Your Responsibilities

As a Commis Chef, you'll play a key role in supporting the kitchen team to deliver exceptional food and service. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Measuring and preparing ingredients according to recipes.
  • Preparing a variety of ingredients, including meats, vegetables, sauces, and garnishes.
  • Supporting the Executive Chef, Head Chef, Sous Chefs, and wider kitchen team with food preparation and service.
  • Assisting with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes.
  • Ensuring your workstation is organised and fully prepared before service.
  • Helping to serve food during busy events where required.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and health & safety.
  • Cleaning kitchen equipment, preparation areas, and workstations throughout service and ensuring the kitchen is fully cleaned and sanitised at the end of each shift.
  • Monitoring pantry and stock levels, rotating stock in line with food safety procedures, and restocking fridges, freezers, and dry stores as required.
  • Ensuring all food is stored correctly at appropriate temperatures.
  • Assisting with stock control and notifying senior chefs when ingredients need replenishing.
  • Working efficiently as part of a busy kitchen team to deliver outstanding hospitality during high-volume events.
