Purpose of Serious Injury- Team Leader The Team Leader will provide supervision and technical guidance as well as overall leadership to a team of Serious Injury Fee Earners (). Caseloads are predominantly RTA and range in value from £25k up to £125k. You will provide end to end technical support and coaching on cases, be responsible for the adherence to our robust supervision framework as well as be accountable for delivery of your teams’ objectives and KPIs. The role holder will require a sound technical knowledge of personal injury (RTA) work as well as experience of supporting and developing team members through effective coaching and mentoring. Serious Injury- Team Leader Key Accountabilities · Be an ambassador for Minster Law. A role model, bringing to life our core purpose and values through inspirational leadership and technical expertise. · Act as a technical referral point for your team members, providing guidance on issues relating to the effective management of their cases, both litigated and non-litigated in order to ensure the best customer outcome in a cost-effective way. · Protect client caseloads of your team through effective governance of milestones being achieved accurately and on time. · Identify and implement litigation tactics to improve customer outcomes and maximise income generation. · Where appropriate, ensure that complex cases are identified and highlighted inline with internal procedures for progression to Multi Track Team. · Similarly, where appropriate, ensure that cases identified as fast track cases are highlighted in line with internal procedures for transfer to Fast Track Team. · Optimise supervision across the team ensuring consistent application of standards, process, and working practice. · Conduct file reviews and other technical supervision required under internal management controls. · To support the Management Team in ensuring effective governance controls and measurements are in place to track and report progress. · Provide effective coaching and feedback to team members, highlighting any issues identified to improve the quality of client outcomes. · Support performance improvement of team members through creating and maintaining smart support plans. · Be comfortable leading and developing a diverse team of newly tenured colleagues as well as experienced senior Fee Earners. · Work with the Management Team to create a culture of continuous improvement and high levels of staff engagement and contribute to the overall operational plan. · To understand the Minster Law cost process and provide technical support to fee-earners. · Identify process issues and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve these. · Identify training needs and skills gaps across the Team. · Work with leadership team and support functions such as Learning and Development to organise training for colleagues. · Working closely with the management team to ensure that both team and fee earner development is appropriately progressed, and business change is fully embedded. · To undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business. · Where appropriate have case ownership alongside the above accountabilities and handle matters in accordance with Team KPIs. Essential · Proven track record of settling claims valued up to at least £125k · Sound knowledge of serious injury RTA · Experience of managing Grade C Fee Earners · Experience of managing HR and People processes against policy. · Managing performance & productivity, ideally in a professional services environment. · IT skills – including Microsoft Word; Microsoft Teams; PowerPoint & Excel. · Experience of conducting 1-2-1’s / personal development plans / performance reviews. · Experienced in the use and interpretation of MI and data. · Willing to explore new technologies to support business development & able to support teams though change. Desirable: · Qualified solicitor or Fellow of CILEx. · Experience of Intermediate Track case management Serious Injury- Team Leader Key Performance Indictors Your KPIs and Objectives will be discussed and agreed with you on a one-to-one basis. You will have regular one-to-one meetings with your line manager to review your performance against these objectives and identify any areas for development and/or required support.
