An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of our supportive, caring organisation working in Real Jam and Chutney. Minstead Trust is a values-driven charity focused on supporting adults with learning disabilities across Dorset and Hampshire. This can be done through support to live in their own homes, learning new skills at day opportunities or receiving work training to move towards employment. We celebrate people by working to provide excellent support to those with wide-ranging care needs.

As a Food Production Assistant, you will be part of a dedicated and enthusiastic team. You’ll be responsible for assisting with the production of products within the Jam and Chutney range, ensuring customer demand is met. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside the people we support, whilst recognising any progress and achievements they make.
  • Providing guidance and direction to volunteers and support workers in assisting in activity delivery.
  • Purchasing ingredients as directed.
  • Delivering merchandise to local wholesalers and sellers as required.
  • Attending food festivals, events and craft fairs to sell the produce.
  • Attending internal and external meetings and briefings as required.
  • Reporting resource requirements, issues or concerns to the Catering Manager and working in a solution-focused manner.
  • Providing a safe working environment for all and following safe working practices to a high standard in compliance with organisational and regulatory policies and best practice.
  • Deputising for the Service Delivery Co-ordinator when they are on leave or absent, including light business admin.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of working alongside adults with a learning disability.
  • Experience of working effectively as part of a team, demonstrating both tact and diplomacy.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and occasional lone working.
  • Experience or qualifications within Catering or production.
  • Experience of Safeguarding Adults and recognition of the importance of this.
  • A Full UK Driving Licence is essential due to the location and role.
