ABOUT THE ROLE
Working across specialty coffee shops, coffee roasters, foodservice operators and contract catering sites, you’ll identify the customers and opportunities where Minor Figures can make the biggest impact, building strong relationships and turning opportunities into sustainable growth.
This is a field-based, commercially focused role, with a strong emphasis on being out in the market, meeting customers, creating opportunities and developing relationships. You’ll work closely with our Route to Market partners and wider Out of Home team to ensure we have the right proposition, route to market and activation to win and grow business.
We’re looking for someone who is commercially minded, curious, energetic and entrepreneurial. You’ll be a self-starter who is comfortable opening doors, building relationships and turning opportunities into action. Previous experience in sales within coffee, FMCG, foodservice or a related industry would be valuable, alongside a genuine passion for great coffee and the Minor Figures brand.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
No two days will be the same, but some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Build and grow the Minor Figures business across the South West and Wales, with a focus on speciality coffee, roasters, foodservice and contract catering.
- Win new business, identifying high-potential customers, creating opportunities and converting prospects into new Minor Figures accounts.
- Grow existing customers and networks, identifying opportunities to increase distribution, listings, volume and product range.
- Develop our Route to Market partnerships, working closely with distributors to identify, develop and convert opportunities within their customer base.
- Build strong customer relationships, becoming a trusted partner to operators, buyers, owners and key decision makers.
- Educate, sample and activate, bringing our products and brand to life with customers, operators, distributors and their teams.
- Own your pipeline and territory plan, using our CRM to manage opportunities and creating clear plans to focus your time on the customers and markets with the greatest growth potential.
- Create opportunities through the market, using customer visits, industry events, trade shows and market insight to generate leads and identify emerging opportunities.
- Collaborate with the wider Out of Home team, sharing customer feedback, market intelligence, competitor activity and best practice to help us win and grow together.
- Represent the Minor Figures brand in the market, bringing our culture, energy and unconventional approach to every interaction, while planning your time and territory effectively to maximise commercial impact.
ABOUT YOUR TEAM
You will be reporting to Will, Head of Out of Home, working alongside the Out of Home NAM, KAM, and BDM team.
ABOUT YOU
We’re big on collaboration and we want everyone on the team to take pride in their work. You’ll thrive here if you adapt easily to change, face challenges head-on, and love to jump right in and figure it out as you go along. Whether you’re in the office, on site visits, or WFH, you support your teammates and you’re comfortable asking for support when you need it yourself.
You are someone who thrives on turning plans into action. You enjoy being out in the market, building relationships, and making things happen; not just managing from behind a desk.
You are:
- commercially driven — you understand how to grow accounts and deliver against targets
- highly organised — you can manage multiple workstreams, from planning to execution
- relationship-led — confident working with stakeholders at all levels, from head office to site teams
- proactive and hands-on — you take ownership and don’t wait to be told what to do
- comfortable in Coffee and Foodservice — ideally with experience working with the UKs largest Foodservice distributors, Contract Caterers and HORECA customers as well as being comfortable within coffee-led environments
- energetic, curious, and adaptable to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
- passionate about Out of Home, whether that’s coffee, foodservice, hospitality or the wider industry, and is comfortable managing a large territory with regular travel across the South West and Wales.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
And, as part of the Minor Figures team, you’ll have the opportunity to invest in the business, with the option to buy shares in the company at an agreed price. Having skin in the game and really contributing to our success. Because it’s you and us all that do make this all happen.
But of course, we look after you in the other ways that you’d expect:
- 25 days of annual leave + bank holidays. Up to 5 days annual leave rollover to the following year
- 1 additional day off to protest, volunteer, attend a demonstration
- EquipsMe Health Insurance
- Free membership for you and your family on the ‘Calm’ app
- Parental Leave Policy
- Pension scheme NEST
- Everyone has options for shares in the company
- Plenty of coffee and oat m*lk! YAY!
- Vegan lunch & snacks when you are in the office
- Staff discount 30% off on all orders
YOUR COMMITMENT
Hours of work will generally be 9.00am – 5:30pm but may vary with workload or by agreement. Flexibility is required due to travel requirements. We expect that you will attend tradeshows and networking events outside from time to time. Travel will be required to follow up leads and generate sales in accordance with the Minor Figures Travel Policy.
OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION
