The role of Van Route Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers on assigned routes in accordance with company policies, contractual obligations, and all federal and state regulations. This position ensures reliable daily service for schools, community organizations, and contracted clients. The Van Route Driver maintains a high standard of safety, professionalism, and customer service while operating company vehicles.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Safely operate a company van on assigned routes and schedules
- Transport passengers to and from designated locations in a timely manner
- Conduct pre trip and post trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns
- Ensure compliance with all DOT and state transportation regulations
- Maintain accurate route logs and required documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delays or route changes
- Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle interior
- Provide professional and courteous service to passengers and clients
- Follow company safety standards and emergency procedures
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Previous professional driving experience preferred
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to manage time and follow assigned routes
- Ability to work early mornings, afternoons, or split shifts as required
